Bills Story
Bill came to see us in 2003 when his son was soon to be married. Bill had no upper teeth. His dentures, made a few years before, had only been worn for 3 hours - in total!
The options for Bill included new conventional removable dentures, a removable but implant suported denture, and a fixed implant retained bridge. We had a few discussions. Bill chose the fixed implant solution; he could see the benefits and had always struggled with his 'wretched denture'.
We used a new, at the time, technique where the implant position is computer guided. The implants took a few months to heal into the bone.
A few appointments were required to get the bridge finished and fitted in time for the wedding.Since that time I see Bill every year or so, and he has been delighted with the solution. No embarrassment, no loose denture, no palate no adhesives - just a fixed set of teeth with no bother.
It's now many years since the bridge was fitted in 2003, and Bill's pictures are in a standard textbook for dentists on implant dentistry.
